Job Description:  

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Metering Sales Manager should be based in the UK covering Northern Europe with specific responsibility for UK, Ireland, Nordics and Benelux.

Preferred Location: Bracknell (other locations in the UK will be considered).

Essential Responsibilities

- Promote the companies Meter solution portfolio within the territory.

- Create, communicate and execute sales/growth strategies and well-defined action plans for each customer and offering

- Develop marketing / account plan for the region to: 1) Drive growth based on coverage / gap analysis; 2) Give feedback to P&L on market needs / interface with P&L; 3) Grow customer base

- Create Go-To-Market plans for the given territory and take the lead following these through to complete all activities required.

- Work closely with the Smart Grid Sales Managers, Sales managers, Technical Application Engineers and Commercial Managers to understand customer requirements and promote the business value proposition of the companies Smart Meters and solutions.

- Develop and maintain High level relationship and organizational knowledge and mapping

- Interact with sales channels and systems integrators, if required, as part of the overall solution

- Prepare and own order/revenue forecasting and its accuracy as well as assisting with cash collection (if required)

- Arranging, driving and attending high level meetings

-Provide VOC corporate direction and identify any new product investment (NPI) as required.

- Give presentations at customer site, on fairs, -seminars and other related events

- Develop new customer accounts and work with them on education and business cases for new technology and solutions

- Achieve order, sales and margin targets as well as budget commitments and contribute to the regions plans with several counterparts

- Proactively educate and influence customer businesses through financials, specifications, product approvals

- Identify key customer and business issues so as to incorporate them into growth plan to capture and expand the companies market share

- Provide feedback regarding market trends, pricing and competition to Commercial operations and P&L

- Use of reporting tools, especially for forecast, with responsibility for the accuracy

Qualifications/Requirements

- Electronic, Instrumentation or Process Engineering background, bachelor degree or equivalent

- Knowledge of meters and metering solutions.

- Relevant sales experience in Utility accounts

- Experience of managing account plans and executive level contacts.

- Experience of selling of metering solutions or electrical power related solutions

- Sound background on metering systems and communications.

- First-class verbal and written communication and presentation skills

- Fluent in English

- Evidence of successful sales experience or significant customer interaction on industry related product solutions

- Customer orientated/ Growth mindset. Must be able to generate immediate credibility on different levels externally and internally. Ability to develop key customer relationships and to promote win-win sales strategies

- Proactive work style, creativity, energy. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a distributed, pan-European sales structure

- Self-starter with high energy level is key to success in this position

- Excellent negotiating & closing skills

- Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationships / team building

- Effective team contributor and member

- Change management mindset

- Willingness to travel
