They need the development test engineer to expand detailed design specification their wind turbines’ power converters (specifically frequency converters) and associated components. The successful candidate will also guide the design process from concept through to production release, and design maintenance.

Once selected, the development engineer will report to the Development Manager and will work as a team with other members of UK R&D team helping to advance my client’s already leading wind-turbines.

The development engineer’s duties are as follows

• Capturing and documentation of detailed requirements
• Evaluation of potential technical solutions
• Development of design solutions
• Liaison with suppliers
• Production of detailed technical specification for items to be procured
• Definition of product acceptance criteria
• Validation of components/equipment in laboratory/wind turbines
• Participation in design and safety risk assessments

To be successful, the client needs to a development engineer to have experience in power system design and power electronics for large volume products, and experience with power converters would be competitive.
