The Architect leads all aspects of the delivery of energy & utilities solutions and related components: interfaces, conversions, HW/SW oversight (selection/sizing/configuration recommendation and execution). The Architect understands business challenges and translates them into requirements/solutions. This role provides Solution Performance (analysis/tuning) and works across business/technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition and systems architecture for the organization. This is a hands-on consulting delivery role throughout the entire lifecycle of a consulting and systems integration engagement.

This architect will be responsible for working with and leading efforts related to a variety of IT and architecture activities:
• Leads IT activities (system/data/security architecture development, design and develop);
• Develops system and interface specifications;
• Advises test lead on system functionality;
• Advises project manager on business/client issues;
• Oversees Smart Grid / Smart Metering architecture and design; and,
• Provides specific experience with advanced metering infrastructure, meter
data management systems, demand response systems, distribution
management systems, and other utility related technologies.

This position requires travel 4-5 days per week.

Candidate Background
• High School Diploma
• At least 2 years experience in team leadership (including highly technical subject matter experts) and client interaction
• At least 2 years experience in the energy and utilities industry (electric energy preferred)
• At least 2 years experience in architectural methods and development approaches.
• At least 1 year experience in with utilities industry specific system and application processes, incl. one or more of: advanced meter integration, smart utility grid, outage mgt., demand mgt., and/or general utility operations.
• At least 1 year experience in the design and implementation of application architecture.
• At least 1 year experience in managing the development of application and system integration associated with Intelligent Grid, advanced meter integration, demand management, and/or outage management.
• At least 1 year experience in conducting technical workshops that map business processes to required technologies.
• Readiness to travel up to 50%; travelling 3-4 days a week, home on weekends
• English: Fluent

• At least 5 years experience in architectural methods and development approaches.
• At least 5 years experience in written and oral communication skills in English.
• At least 5 years experience in with utilities industry specific system and application processes, incl. one or more of: advanced meter integration, smart utility grid, outage mgt., demand mgt., and/or general utility operations.
• At least 5 years experience in the design and implementation of application architecture.
• At least 5 years experience in managing the development of application and system integration associated with Intelligent Grid, advanced meter integration, demand management, and/or outage management.
